ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Lynda
WHERE I COME FROM

As a direct descendant of several founding families of eastern Long Island, which include many men of distinction as well as Revolutionary war heroes, I have a keen interest and a sense of duty when it comes to the future of our Island. I am a 52 year old native of Suffolk County and a single mother of 2 children. I enrolled in Dowling College as an undergraduate in 1985. Later on, I received a Digital Technology degree from Dover Technical School, Ronkonkoma in 2000 and went on to become a repair technician. In response to the call to duty after the 9-11 attacks, I joined the New York Army National Guard in 2003 and served for 9 years while I also attended Suffolk County Community College. In 2015, I moved to Mastic Beach and became more involved with my community by speaking out publicly at County legislature meetings against the Red Light Camera Program. It was there that I met and subsequently became the campaign manager for Stephen Ruth, Long Island’s Red Light Robin Hood, in his 2016 campaign for State Senate. Early in 2018, I took a position as Manager of Operations at a Real Estate Investment Brokerage.
During the past 30 years, I have served my community as a volunteer for Saint Joseph CYO, Suffolk County Girl Scouts, the Smithtown Animal Shelter as well as several political candidate campaigns. I am a proud member of Amvets Post 48 in Ronkonkoma. In 2005 I was chosen to serve as an Honor Guard for the military performing military funeral honors and did so faithfully for 7 years. Shortly thereafter, I also became a member of Joint Task Force - Empire Shield, which conducts Homeland Security operations in the New York City Metropolitan Area and whose stated mission is to deter and prevent terrorist acts.
A friend once described me as strong and patriotic. As a Soldier, I was trained to live the Army Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage and as a Veteran, I have kept my way. I believe that it is the combination of my patriot genes and my Army values that separates me from the other candidates. In this period for a new election, it is my goal with good intentions, to contribute towards the organization and administration of a small, effective and efficient government for the future interest of this County
